What You'll Experience:
The Secret Waterfall is truly a magical place. It does
not show up on the maps, it has no name, and until we
began taking people to it, it was virtually unknown even
by people who had lived in the area all of their lives.
In the spring, the profusion of wildflowers covering the
rocky meadows surrounding the falls is so great that it
is oftentimes difficult to find a spot to step to avoid
the flowers. Because year-around natural springs feed
the meadows, the well-watered wildflowers at this
location remain further into the summer than any other
location we visit.
Wildflowers at Secret Waterfall
This tour begins in the Ashland Albertson's parking lot
at 11:00 AM and includes a vegetarian box lunch. We will
pool rides and take a 50 minute road trip up into the
mountains to the parking area deep in the forest for the
Secret Waterfall. The walk from the parking area to the
falls is a little over ½ mile and a very easy almost
level walk. If you are planning on being a driver, some
of the travel is over unmaintained Forest Service dirt
roads with potholes.
Once to the falls there are many level areas to sit and
enjoy lunch an enchanted lunch in the pure mountain air
with the musical sound of the waterfall nearby.
After lunch those who wish to participate, will form a
hand-held circle and harmonize the notes of the Lanaka,
a group energy balancing exercise that takes just a few
minutes, but combined with being within the Vortex of
the waterfall is highly energizing.

After the Lanaka, those over 16 years, who are fit and
prepared with good-fitting, lug sole hiking boots, may
descend down a rope into the waterfall canyon. Standing
next to the waterfall pool you will feel the full and
majestic power of this amazingly powerful positive
energy Vortex. Because of the danger from the steep, wet
and slippery canyon walls, and the necessity of
one-on-one guiding, only one person can be in the canyon
with the guide at a time. Those remaining above or
waiting to descend into the canyon will be free to
explore the immediate area. Adults
and teenagers 16yrs.+ please stay 10 feet from the edges
of cliffs. Children need to remain at least 20 feet from
cliff edges and with a parent at all times.
Immediately after you reach the canyon floor you will be
next to the unique moss wall Dimensional Doorway. Take a
moment to walk along this miracle wall of nature which
rises 40 feet up and spreads 30 feet across. Because the
canyon is in the shadows for most of the day and the
natural springs in the meadows above continue to run
water down the cliff face all year, the moss remains
moist, green and vibrant even during the hottest, driest
part of summer.
